Although that doesn’t affect it’s ability to get the job done.

The developing company is 2squared software, and RegClean is currently in version 4.1a

Visit RegClean official Homepage

Using RegClean

The initial startup and scan using RegClean was promising. It took more or less the same amount of time as other popular registry cleaning utilities, although it seemed to find a lot more errors then some of the other products we’ve reviewed.

This doesn’t always mean that there are more critical errors, sometimes programs find items that aren’t crucial and include them in their “to repair” list.

The repair process for RegClean was not unlike any other registry cleaner. A manual selection and approval of items to be repaired and then the software does it’s thing. Upon repair of several errors our machine appeared to start up faster then normal. There were not any errors listed on startup suggesting that no critical information was accidentally removed from the registry.

An automatic backup is made by RegClean before repairs take place, so if anything was accidentally removed it could be restored using the backup file created prior to repair.

Download and run a Free RegClean Scan Now

Usability

I’d give RegClean a big thumbs up for ease of use. Most beginners wouldn’t have an issue navigating the RegClean interface (see screen shots below). The only downfall I’d mention would be a lack of documentation as to how the product works. Although they do provide prompt support for registered users via their online help desk at www regclean com.

One of the lesser known Registry Scanners on the market RegSweep guarantees a complete system scan in 2 minutes or less, that all file paths, corrupt files, and registry keys will be scanned and repaired so your computer functions as good as when you first purchased it.

This is a pretty tall order, but you’ve got nothing to lose in trying it.

Visit RegSweep and try it FREE

RegSweep Overall

A quality program that gets the job done with an excellent guarantee.

Visit RegSweep Home page

A complete scan of your PC in two minutes or less, bringing your PC back to new operating standards. That’s the claim made on the home page of RegSweep, and in my initial test the software did as promised.

Sample Screen Shot of Pre Scan Screen in RegSweep

Did it work is the question?

Several errors were found after the scan, how ever there didn’t appear to be as many errors listed as some of the other registry repair programs I have run. This doesn’t tell me that RegSweep is less effective, because from what I can see the crucial errors were found.

After a single running of RegSweep my test computer did appear to run faster then before, although tough to say if it was as quick as when the machine was new. I would say that RegSweep is a quality registry repair program, how ever that’s after only one initial scan.

It’s very possible that RegSweep would perform differently on a different system finding more or fewer errors. How ever since they offer an upfront guarantee right on their home page you don’t have anything to lose trying it out.

Visit the RegSweep Home Page

Sample Screen Shot the Backup section in RegSweep

RegSweep User experience

Like most products in this market, RegSweep makes it very easy for even the most basic computer user to complete a scan. You open up the program, start the initial scan, then just follow the prompts as they come up to complete a detailed and in depth scan of the registry.

Something I liked about RegSweep is it’s permission based repair procedure. Before the software makes any major changes to the registry or system files it asks for your permission to do so. This offers you one more glance to ensure the item is indeed an error.

Like most other registry scanners, RegSweep performs a system backup prior to repairing any files or the registry.

RegSweep After Sales Support

Support is provided via an Online support help desk. You can submit a ticket and review it’s status all in one place if you’re having troubles. Full support is only provided to registered users of the program.

Buy or don’t Buy RegSweep?

Because of the guarantee that RegSweep gives it’s customers I give this a buy recommendation. Does the program work as described? I think so yes, but of course each individual PC will have a different results. How ever if you’re not happy with the performance after running the program you can request a full refund, it’s a win-win situation.

A very popular Registry Repair and System utility Error Nuker has a big following, and many depend on it’s repair abilities to keep their PC in tip top shape.

TrekBlue, the parent company to Error Nuker, is also the developer of other popular PC utilities including SpywareNuker, PopUpNuker, and SpamNuker. You can trust their brand to provide quality computer repair programs, and they have thousands of users around the world to prove it.

Error Nuker is designed to work all versions of Windows 98 and later including Vista.

Visit Error Nuker and try it FREE

Error Nuker Performance

The first scan I did with Error Nuker I found to take a bit longer then some of the similar registry repair and PC optimization tools I’ve tested. While not a horrible thing, I presumed it would discover a longer list of errors then other tools.

Like most of it’s competitors Error Nuker offered a very in depth system scan, checking not only the registry, but also the hard disk, start files, DLL files, and device driver associations (it’s possible the scan took a bit longer because it scanned more then just my system registry).

After the full scan was run, and the errors repaired there was a noticeable difference in the performance and speed of my PC. Error Nuker especially seemed to improve the Start up time of Windows. There were no error messages, or warnings after Error Nuker was run.

User Experience

The interface for Error Nuker is pretty straight forward. The layout wasn’t fancy, rather functional and straight forward. I found it quite easy to go from my initial system scan right through to the repair stages. I’d feel very comfortable suggesting Error Nuker to a beginner computer user.

The process went more or less like this:

Registry Scan: There are two options, both manual and auto scan, like most of the registry repair tools we’ve reviewed. During the manual scan you can choose which types of errors you look for, and in turn repair.

Simple Removal and Repair: After the scan was complete Error Nuker provided very straight forward directions to delete or repair the invalid items and errors found during the scan.

GREAT FEATURE: Unlike some of the other registry repair tools I’ve seen, Error Nuker offers and automatic backup utility. Some of the other programs require you to turn this feature on before doing any repairs. This is very important to ensure any changes can be undone if you’re not happy with the changes or performance.

Like most other repair tools Error Nuker offers a scheduling feature, which allows you to run a system scan every day, week, month etc. It’s a very worth while option to setup to run at least monthly depending on your PC usage.

Over all I like the interface, and usability of Error Nuker. I felt it stacked up well to the competition and did an adequate job delivering on the features it promised on the sales page of their webs

After Sales Support: After purchasing Error Nuker has a support desk on their website to ask questions. Technical support is only provided to those with a registered version of the software.

Supposedly (although not confirmed) they have 10 million copies in use around the world today.

I like it’s capability to repair the registry as well as perform other optimization tips, it’s worth a try to see what it can find wrong with your PC.

Registry Fix is designed to work all versions of Windows 98 and later including Vista.

Visit the Registry Fix website now to Try it for FREE

The Registry Fix program, like others in the market, scans your windows registry and hard drive searching for errors, outdated information, and empty registry keys. How ever is it any better then all the other registry cleaner tools out there? Continue reading my Registry fix review to find out.

Visit the Official Registry Fix Website Now

Noted Features of Registry Fix

I like that fact that Registry fix provides a free scan, it’s not anything unique versus other products in this industry, it’s more of a requirement. None the less I think it’s a great feature to “try before you buy”. I think this saves people from being disappointed if the program doesn’t find anything but they’ve already shelled out the cash.

The backup utility in Registry Fix is another must for any registry repair program. It allows you to backup your current system files, and registry prior to completing any repair process. When ever I’ve used a registry repair tool, I’ve always looked for the back feature. Without it I’ll move on it’s just to important to me that I can undo changes and revert back to the way things were before I repaired anything.

Something Unique to Registry Fix

One feature I noticed during my Registry Fix review is that they offer the ability to manage program removal right inside the software. Normally you’d use a programs built in uninstall feature (which is what causes a lot of registry errors in the first place), or the add/remove programs feature in your control panel. Being able to manage this aspect of your PC from inside Registry fix is a nice feature.

Something else that’s worth mentioning is that Registry fix will manage your start up programs, and allow you to manage your Internet Explorer objects as well. This is a nice feature, since most computer users aren’t familiar with how to stop programs from loading at startup.

Visit Official Registry Fix Home Page

What Registry Fix Scans for

During my Registry Fix review I noted a couple of things it scans for that I haven’t seen before. It specifically looks for issues with MS outlook, and Internet Explorer. This makes sense since they are probably two of the most used programs on your PC.

Beyond Explorer and Outlook the Registry fix program scans for:

Missing file associations

Missing startup programs

Invalid device drivers

Invalid application paths

Missing DLL files

Missing help files

Missing system fonts

Perform a FREE Scan with Registry Fix Now

Summing it all up

Registry fix uses a clean interface that is easy to navigate and understand. The program seems to offer a bit more in depth scanning then other registry repair tools on the market. Should you buy it? I’d first run the free scan before I open my wallet, this will let you know if there are registry errors lurking around your machine (although if you’re experiencing slow start up, long waits for programs to load etc. you likely do have issues).

All in all Registry fix finds a good number of errors, and will likely make a noticeable improvement to your PC’s speed. If you’re not satisfied with the results they do offer a money back guarantee, so realistically you’ve got nothing to lose. Not to mention, their backup utility ensures you can undo any changes the software makes to your system even after a repair is complete.

The program is designed and developed by RegistryEasy.com and is worth a look at. It’s more then just registry repair software, it’s a system utility.

Registry easy works with all versions of Windows 98 and later including Vista.

Download a Free Trial of Registry Easy Now

To start off with when I was doing this Registry easy review, I was sort of bored with reviewing registry repair tools. The two I had used before this were more or less the exact same with a different name on it, how ever when I first landed on the Registry Easy website, I felt something was different.

It wasn’t long into my registry easy review that I found their features list (which is quite long) and I recognized that this isn’t just a registry repair tool, but it handles a lot of other system management issues as well.

Take a peek at Registry Easy’s long features list (scroll down to mid screen)

Registry Easy First Impressions

Right off the bat I liked the interface, and how it looked. It was clean, bright, big buttons and straight forward. You can see a screen shot of the Registry Easy interface below.

For more detailed screen shots and images of the scanning process click here.

The scan

While performing this Registry Easy review I ran a test scan on my machines registry. The time to complete the registry scan was normal. They have a very big list of items that Registry easy is searching for, but it didn’t seem to cause any lag in scan time.

After the scan was complete there was a list of errors and items found that the software suggested be deleted or repaired. A nice feature was that I could choose which items were changed. So I could simply go through the list and check off which items I wanted to be left alone. This is an important feature to ensure nothing that shouldn’t be deleted or modified is.

Of course there is an auto repair option as well in Registry easy. This will cause the program to just repair all items it finds during it’s scan. Most times you’re safe to allow Registry easy to repair the items for you, but for those that like the added control it’s nice to scroll through the list to see what was found.

Safety features of Registry Easy

I love the backup utility, if you’ve read any of my other registry repair reviews you know I preach the ability to backup, undo, and restore old settings if need be. I’ve been caught one to many times making Changes to something I shouldn’t have and left my PC in worse shape then it was before.

Registry Easy, as other programs do, has a backup registry feature, plus a restore point option. This is a little more in depth then most registry cleaners provides. Restore points aren’t just a backup, but a complete system snap shot in time of all the settings on your PC. This is probably the best backup utility I’ve seen in any registry repair software.

Registry Easy Bonus Features

Couple of things I thought were nice extra bonuses are:

Duplicate File Cleaner

Evidence Cleaner

System Optimizer

Add/remove Program Manager

Internet Explorer restore

Memory Tweak

These are all bonus features of Registry easy that help enhance your PC’s performance and manage your file structure. This was a big plus for me while doing the Registry Easy review, I didn’t get to test all those features, but having them there for the same cost as every other registry cleaner was worth it.

Registry Easy Review Summary

All in all I think this is the nicest registry repair software I’ve looked at. I like the look of the interface, I like the add ons, and I really like the backup and security features. For the money and features this is probably going to be my top pick for PC registry cleaners. They offer the free scan utility, and full refund if you’re not happy with the programs performance.

I recommend you download the free scan utility, and run it on your PC. This will get your feet wet with the Registry Easy interface, and let you know if you have any registry errors that are slowing things down.

Registry Mechanic by PCTools.com is one of the easiest registry cleaner utilities on the market. It’s sleek interface and easy to navigate buttons make it a good registry cleaner choice for both novice and advanced users. The trusted brand that PC Tools has developed and numerous awards that both Registry Mechanic and their other PC utilities have won gives this registry cleaner a certain trust factor. Keep reading to find out how our Registry mechanic Review turned out.

Using Registry Mechanic

There are 3 options when you open Registry mechanic they are: Scan your registry, compact registry, and optimize your system. I like this, not a bunch of options that I feel intimidated by, just a straight forward user interface.

The actual scan of your registry can be done as a “quick” or a “full” scan like most registry cleaners I’ve reviewed. After the scan is complete the errors are divided up into categories and displayed for you to choose which should be removed and which can be left alone. You can select items to include to discard with check boxes.

A very user friendly feature is how Registry Mechanic groups the errors it finds. The importance of errors are rated with a bar system (see screen shot at right). This gives even beginners a good idea of how severe a problem is or isn’t.

The program itself found hundreds of problems that another registry cleaner I had been using missed. The computers start quicker; what could be better?”

Registry Mechanic Features

Beyond the base registry scanning and error detection ability Registry Mechanic boasts a very robust system optimization tool. It applies:

“ a set tweaks and patches directly into the Windows® Registry that are designed to improve system performance. “

The system optimization tool also offers a defrag tool, start menu item sorting, and continued monitoring of your system (see screen shot at left for optimization screen).

Registry Mechanic doesn’t offer a long list of tools (that are often useless) like some other registry cleaners do. How ever the added features it does offer are useful.

Support

PCTools.com is a big company, they’re not a fly by night operation, and their registry cleaner is only one of several products. They offer online support and an in depth FAQ that will likely answer any questions you might have. Their response time is good, less then a day during regular business hours. I’d rank Registry Mechanic at the top for service and support of their product.

One of the most popular registry cleaner programs available is RegCure by ParetoLogic.

We wanted to do a thorough RegCure review to see if it was worth your time and money, so we ran it on one of our IBM T42 Thinkpad Laptops that was running very slow.

Registry cleaner software is abundent on the internet, but not all of it is professional grade. Since the registry is such an important part of your computer, you won’t want to settle for anything less than the best. It’s definitely a good idea to do some research before making a decision. Hopefully this review will help you out.

Testing The Software RegCure Review

The first thing we did was download RegCure right from ParetoLogic’s website (click here to visit their site). The software is only available online, but it’s not a big file so it’s easy for anyone to download. The download was fast, and we proceeded to install the program.

RegCure’s interface was the first thing we noticed. It is clean and easy to navigate, with big buttons and easy to read information. This was a change from some of the other programs we have tested, which only have mediocre interfaces.

The advantage of this is that people with limited computer experience should find navigating RegCure a breeze.

Running The Scan RegCure Review

Screenshot:

We ran the scan feature and the program found 726 errors. This was surprising, since this laptop was owned by someone who knows computers rather well.

After cleaning up the errors, we ran the very useful “Manage Startup” utility, which allowed us to disable certain applications from loading when we boot up Windows. Some of these were completely useless, and are a big hog of resources when booting up. The Manage Startup feature makes this very easy to do.

The Results RegCure Review

The results of our RegCure review test run were pretty amazing. The total boot time of our laptop decreased from 4 minutes 42 seconds to 2 minutes and 44 seconds! This was a huge improvement. The overall speed of the laptop is also much improved, and there have been no errors or crashes.

RegCure’s Features RegCure Review

Here’s what you can expect to get with RegCure:

Custom Scans

Automatic Scheduling Tool

Startup Programs Manager

Automatic Repair

Ignore List

Backup And Restore Features

RegCure is highly customizable for more advanced users. It allows you to selectively scan your system. If you only want to scan for uninstall entries, or program shortcuts, it’s possible.

The backup and restore function is a great safety feature, allowing you to roll back your last set of changes just in case something important was accidentally removed. If you haven’t run any cleans, then obviously this will be empty at first. Think of it as the edit \ undo button.

Conclusions RegCure Review

In our opinion, RegCure is the best registry cleaner program available. We definitely recommend this software.

RegCure offers a free scan so you can try out their program. We recommend getting the full version if you have more than 300 errors.

The program is not free, but you may download the program and run a scan for free. The cost is not prohibitive, and could potentially save you from hassle that comes with dealing with a sluggish, crashing computer. The company, ParetoLogic, does in fact stand behind its satisfaction guarantee, which might ease the minds of some consumers.

ParetoLogic has good customer service and offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee on their products, so it’s a safe investment.
